What you need:
- 1 Organic Ciabatta Baguette (Trade Joe’s )
- Triple creme Brie Cheese 16oz I'm using the one from (Trader Joe’s)
- 2 medium sweet onion
- Olive Oil
-3 Tablespoons of vegetable broth (low sodium)
- 6 Tablespoons of unsalted butter
-1 Cup of walnuts
-1 Tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
- Italian parsley- for decor
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Preheat oven to 350F
Start by caramelizing the sliced onion in a cast-iron skillet with melted butter. Let it soften about 11 minutes at medium heat stirring frequently till the onion changes the color in a golden brown then starts adding the vegetable broth, salt, pepper, and thyme.
After the onion caramelized, let it rest for a few minutes while we are slicing the ciabatta baguette. Drizzle olive oil over the baguette lay it on a parchment paper in a cooking sheet pan. Cut the brie cheese in thicker slices place it on top of the crostini baguette and top each piece with caramelized onion thyme and pepper. Let it cook for around 10 minutes till the cheese starts melting and the onion turns into darker brown color. Remove it from the oven and sprinkle it with walnuts and parsley.
